Lost in the Bayou
Having only crossed into Texas an hour ago, I'm not sure I escaped Louisiana intact.
Psychic readings in New Orleans. Rum punch and rowdy women on Bourbon Street. An all-night stud poker game in Lake Charles. And more ghost stories than I have ever heard before. The VMGCS and I may never be the same again. I need time to process all of it. And according to my new psychic guide, Reese, I need to sleep. "You are very tired," he told me. "Rest. Rest. Rest." In the meantime, ponder today's lyric from Lucinda Williams: "If we lived in a world without tears, How would bruises find the face to lie upon? How would scars find the skin to etch themselves into? How would broken find the bones?" posted by Jim DeFede at 5:56 AM
